ABOUT US
Description of business

Annex Agriculture Inc. (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) was established on October 17, 2018, in accordance with the laws of Saskatchewan. The primary objective of the Company is to develop, construct, and manage a grain handling facility known as “Annex,” which commenced its operations on May 7, 2019. The Company utilizes the rail networks of the Canadian National Railway Company (“CN”) in proximity to Semans, Saskatchewan, for its operations. The ownership structure of the Company is characterized by a broad base of approximately 50 shareholders, predominantly consisting of local farmers. The grain facility boasts a storage capacity of 2,300,000 bushels.

The Company has secured around $3.2 million from local farmers and businesses through storage agreements, granting them access to 1,377,450 bushels of storage capacity until the cessation of the Company’s operations. This amount was recorded as a deduction from the overall cost of the facility during its construction phase.

In August 2020, the Company entered a contract with Cenovus Energy for the annual supply of 25 million liters, thereby enabling the operation of the alcohol production facility located in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan (referred to as the “Fermentation Facility”). The inaugural production was dispatched on September 2, 2020.

Since its inception, Annex Agriculture Inc. has focused on enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of grain handling and storage. The Company has implemented advanced technologies in its operations, including automated grain monitoring systems and environmentally friendly practices to minimize its carbon footprint. This commitment to sustainability not only benefits the environment but also aligns with the growing demand for eco-conscious agricultural practices among consumers and stakeholders.

In addition to its core operations, the Company actively engages with the local community through educational programs and workshops aimed at promoting best practices in agriculture and grain management. By fostering strong relationships with local farmers and businesses, Annex Agriculture Inc. has positioned itself as a vital player in the regional agricultural landscape.

Looking ahead, the Company is exploring opportunities for expansion, including the potential development of additional storage facilities and partnerships with other agricultural enterprises. This strategic growth plan aims to enhance the Company’s service offerings and further solidify its role as a leader in the grain handling, fermentation & distillation industry in Saskatchewan.
